Discuss different networks models

 Q. Discuss different networks models  There are two models of computer networks. These are as follows:  Client-Server Model  Peer-to-Peer Model   1. Client-Server Model/Dedicated Server Network  In client-server model, one or more computers work as servers and other computers work as clients, The server computer controls the whole network. It is used to store data and programs to be shared among different computers in the network It may also share a printer attached with it. Server is more powerful computer than other computers in the network. It performs most of the processing in this network model.  The client computer requests a service from the server computer. The server computer provides the requested service to the client computer.

Terminal Computer

Terminal Computer  Every computer that is part of a computer network is called a terminal or node. The users using different terminal computers can share information and send or receive data from one terminal to another.  Server Computer  A server is a computer that provides services to the computers and other devices connected to the network. Server computer is more powerful than other computers in the network. Different services provided by the server are as follows: Control access to the hardware, software and data Centralized storage for software, data and information Processing data Sharing software Managing network traffic

Workgroup Computing

Workgroup Computing  Workgroup is a group of persons working together on a particular task by sharing information through a computer network. The process of sharing information by using a computer network is called workgroup computing. It is also called collaborative computing) The workgroup members may be at different places in the world. They can share their ideas and experiences using computer network. Different types of files, pictures, sounds, videos and graphics can be exchanged among the member of workgroup. The transfer of data and information using a computer network is very fast and efficient. Workgroup computing has played an important role in research and development.  Groupware  Groupware is a software used for workgroup computing. It is used on a computer network. The researchers can use it to share information about different projects online. The individuals can use it to collaborate with their colleagues etc.

Information network

What is computer network/information network? A computer network consists of two or more computers that are connected together to share information and resources. The resources may include printers, hard disks or programs etc. The computers in the network are connected together through communication media The communication media can be a physical cable or a wireless connection. The computers in the network can be in the same room, building or at different places. Uses/Benefits of Computer Networks   Some important uses of computer networks are as follows:  Networks are used to access shared data Networks are used to share different devices such as printers and hard disks etc. Networks are used to send email with attachments of files etc. Networks are used to communicate with different people all over the world easily One copy of software can be shared over a network by multiple users.

Health-related Issues of using ICT Devices

Health-related Issues of using ICT Devices  If we use a computer for many hours, there are some health issues that might affect us Some of them are:  Eye-Strain  One health issue that can occur after using computers for a long time is eye-strain. This is caused by looking at a monitor which is a constant distance away. The muscles that focus your eyes do not move, and so get tired and painful. Eye-strain can also cause headaches We should take regular breaks to avoid Eye-Strain problem.  Back and Neckache   Many people suffer from back and neck pain after working at a computer for a long time. This is usually due to them having a bad sitting posture.   Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) in Wrists and Hands   Any repetitive movement (same movement over and over again) can result in a health problem called repetitive strain injury (RSI). In particular, typing and using a mouse for long periods are common causes of RSI in the wrist (it is often cal...
